Traveling with pets
Carrying pets on buses is a very special situation. Please comply with the following guidelines:
- A valid vaccination certificate must be presented for the animal, on the correct form.
- The pet owner must obtain a health certificate from a veterinarian.
- The animal may not be transported in any manner that might disturb other passengers or cause any discomfort. Consequently, only small and inoffensive pets may be carried on passengers' laps, when properly confined in a standard traveling case with the following measurements: 20 cm wide, 25 cm high and 40 cm long. If not compliant with this standard, the animal will not be allowed to embark.
Baggage
Ticket prices include no-charge mandatory transportation of baggage in the baggage compartment and overhead luggage compartments, in compliance with the following maximum weights and sizes:
- Baggage compartment: 30 kg total weight and volume of no more than 300 decimeters (0.3 meters), with the largest dimension limited to one meter.
- In the overhead luggage compartment, a total weight of five kg with measurements that fit into this compartment, provided that the comfort and safety of passengers is not adversely affected, with these goods consisting of items for personal use.
Should these measurements be exceeded, an excess baggage fee will be charged
Materials ranked as hazardous may not be carried, such as explosives, firearms, corrosive products, etc.
Lost baggage
Should baggage be lost or mislaid, contact the employee in charge at the place of disembarkation. Complete the Baggage Claim Form, and present the ticket and baggage stub. A copy of these documents will be appended to the form, which will be forwarded to 1001 for the necessary steps to be taken. For your comfort, we suggest that you place some type of identification in your baggage, listing your personal data and making it easier to return any lost or mislaid items to you promptly.
Traveling with children
Children up to five years old are carried free of charge, provided that they do not occupy seats on the bus.
Pursuant to Article 83 of the Children's and Adolescents' Statute (ECA), unaccompanied minors must carry an original or notarized photocopy of an identity document or birth certificate. Also according to this Statute, children under twelve years old may travel only when presenting an original or notarized photocopy of their birth certificate and accompanied by: father, mother, uncle, aunt, grandparent, first cousin or older sibling, with their escorts presenting identity cards. Please recall that this Act is intended to ensure the safety of your children within your family.
Do not leave children unattended or without identification. Should a child be lost, contact the Juvenile Court Offices at the bus terminal, or its administration.
How to exchange, return and/or ensure return tickets
You can cancel your trip and receive your money back, or you can revalidate your ticket for some other time and date, provided that you do so personally at least three hours before departure time at the company agencies. Should you decide not to travel, the company may withhold 5% of the ticket price as a compensatory fine. There is no charge for revalidating your ticket.
